Huff Ranch
The Huff Ranch is a prime turkey hunting spot in Eastern Montana. Located just south of Roundup a couple miles off US-Highway 87, this a convenient location for folks making the short drive from Billings.
The ranch is situated along the northern edge of the Bull Mountains, so our terrain is mostly mountainous with heavily timbered sections. In the midst of this timber, we have ag fields, which is a great food source for the abundant wildlife in our area.
This Spring, the ranch should be turkey hunters haven. We have a ton of Merriam's that hang around on our pasture ground traversing to and from the timber and cropland.
We are outdoor recreators throughout the summer. We are always open to new ways for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy our land, so please send us an inquiry and we'd be happy to see if we can accommodate your requested activity.
We will occasionally see a bear transit through the property. also elk,mule deer and whitetail frequent the property.
The ranch is about a 45-minute drive from the Billings City Limits and within an hour of I-90 and Billings Logan International Airport.
We don't have lodging available on the property; however, about 7 miles away from us a neighbor of ours has a couple of reasonably-priced VRBOs that guests are encouraged to check out!

I had an enjoyable 2-day hunt on Mike's property. I didn't get a turkey, but I heard gobblers both mornings and spotted one flock of hens. These late season birds are challenging! The habitat looked good for turkeys. The ONX map was valuable for getting to the property and identifying the boundaries.

The Huff Ranch is very rugged. A wildfire came through last year and killed all the pines so it’s pretty wide open. Mr Mike was kind enough to let me to try and roost birds, he knew exactly where they would be at. The terrain is pretty steep and given that there’s cattle on the property and a recent fire, moving on birds is nearly impossible due to a lack of cover. There is a very healthy population of birds here and in the immediate area. But you’ll need decoys and a blind to kill them. This property is not conducive to run&gun hunting due to how wide open it is.

Property has lots of birds. It was a challenge this time. Mike was awesome to give me tips and help me. Just a great time and very peaceful. Scored on last day. 5 star for sure!!!

Great turkey property, birds all over the place. Be sure to hit up ONX for the pointers. Mike was good to deal with, no issues with my hunt! Note: no service on lower portions of the property so make sure to download the ONX Map before!

Mike was great to work with, he answered any questions we had. Beautiful area with good bird population. Terrain is rugged you will feel it climbing up and down, but it's exactly what you'd expect hunting in the Bull mountains. My son and I enjoyed our time here as we both were able to complete our slam. Would definitely make the trip back out.

This property is the perfect turkey spot. There are birds everywhere, but they are smart so you'll have to work for them. There's steep hills and deep draws, making it the perfect gobbler territory. The turkey we got down was beautiful. Mike is great, he was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed for a great hunt. 10/10, highly recommend booking Mike's place!!
